Fees & insurance
Fees, insurance and payment
Mindful Focused Therapy is a private-pay practice: sessions are $285. We don't bill insurance, but we can give you a superbill to claim out-of-network reimbursement from your insurer.
Session fees
Our fees are below. If anything is unclear, ask us before you book. Asking about cost will never affect your care.
- Therapy session, including EMDR and EMDR 2.0: $285
- EMDR intensive: $285 for each session-length block. You and your clinician agree the number of blocks at your assessment.
- Psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy: ask us about the fees for your plan.
Insurance
We're a private-pay practice and don't bill insurance directly.
If your plan has out-of-network mental health benefits, ask us for a superbill: an itemized statement of your sessions that you submit to your insurer yourself to ask for reimbursement. How much is reimbursed, if anything, depends on your plan.
Before you start, it's worth calling your insurer and asking:
- Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
- Is there a deductible I need to meet first, and how much of it is left?
- Do I need pre-authorization for psychotherapy?
- How much will you reimburse for a psychotherapy session?
Your right to a Good Faith Estimate
If you don't have insurance, or you're choosing not to use it, you have the right to a Good Faith Estimate of what your care is expected to cost.
In short:
- You can ask for a Good Faith Estimate at any time, including before you schedule.
- When you schedule a service, you'll receive the estimate in writing at least one business day beforehand.
- If your final bill is $400 or more above your estimate, you can dispute it.
- A dispute must be started within 120 days of receiving your initial bill.
- Keep a copy of your estimate somewhere you can find it again.
- Read the full Good Faith Estimate notice
Payment and cancellations
Ask us about accepted payment methods and our cancellation policy before your first session.
